Accelerated Corrosion Testing

OCRC has accelerated corrosion test facilities capable of testing in accordance with most major test protocols. Our marine exposure site includes an optional seawater spray, increasing the material degradation as steel corrodes ten time faster with seawater spray. This accelerated testing in our facilities helped identify corrosion control solutions.

In addition, OCRC has developed accelerated test protocol to investigate corrosion or materials failure for a variety of specific applications. This includes the development of test rigs specifically for performance testing of coatings for corrugated steel pipe materials. OCRC has assisted the US Army Aberdeen Proving Ground to develop an Accelerated Corrosion/ Durability Test for military vehicles and developed a test rig for accelerated testing of impact/wear on non-skid coatings for the US Navy.
