OCRC has accelerated corrosion test facilities capable of testing in accordance with most major test protocols. Additionally, our marine exposure site includes an optional seawater spray, increasing the material degradation (steel corrodes ten time faster with seawater spray).
In addition, OCRC has developed accelerated test protocol to investigate corrosion or materials failure for a variety of specific applications. For example:
- Shown below is a test rig we developed for performance testing of coatings for corrugated steel pipe materials.
- We also assisted the US Army Aberdeen Proving Ground to develop an Accelerated Corrosion/ Durability Test for military vehicles (shown on the right). Accelerated testing in our facilities helped identify corrosion control solutions.
- We have also developed a test rig for accelerated testing of impact/wear on non-skid coatings for the US Navy.
