Applications

Ocean City Research Corp. (OCRC) utilizes electrochemical techniques (Potential-log current plots, linear polarization resistance, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, etc) to study different aspects of corrosion such as corrosion reactions of electrically conductive materials, inhibitors and coatings in corrosive environments. These methodologies are accepted as standard procedures by The National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE) International and The American Society for Testing Materials (ASTM). Computer generated current-potential plots allow for observation of passivation, determination of pitting tendencies and/or calculation of corrosion rates. OCRC performs electrochemical experiments to evaluate compatibility and limitations for:

  • Quality control
  • Materials selection
  • Materials and environmental comparisons
  • Study of corrosion mechanisms.

OCRC engineers and technicians are active members of The Electrochemical Society, NACE and ASTM. We are committed to providing our clients with flexibility and expedient solutions to their materials concerns.
