Specific Expertise:
Under contract A, Vision Point Systems supports NSWCCD code 631 on an effort funded by the Office of Naval Research regarding corrosion data modeling and analysis. This effort consists of three stages: 1) Compile all corrosion performance reports generated in NSWCCD code 631. 2) Design and implement a centralized database for the corrosion performance data. 3) Provide advanced data analysis of corrosion performance data using neural networks and advanced visualization. These analysis techniques will require development of custom applications for recognizing data patterns and correlations unique to the materials engineering community.

Under contract B, GCAS developed an Expert Coating Analysis Tool (ECAT) that retrieves and mines corrosion data from several Navy corrosion databases. Autonomous agents extract information from those databases for the data mining purposes. The data mining output links with an Expert System that models coating breakdown and provides optimized recommendations on coating solutions.
