Specific Expertise:
Under contract A, Corrpro assisted the Army/Navy in implementing an environmentally acceptable corrosion control solution for flight decks of the HSV-X2 class of experimental vessels. Corrpro staff utilized engineering, analytical, and technical disciplines to determine the feasibility of replacing the traditional non-skid coating system with an uncoated, extruded aluminum flight deck. However, there was concern that the aluminum flight deck would not retain the same corrosion resistance to marine atmosphere, wear from flight operations, and damage reparability as traditional non-skid. Corrpro was tasked to conduct testing to ascertain the corrosion resistance, wearability, and reparability of the decking material under simulated conditions and compare results to those found using the traditional non-skid coating system. Corrpro gave recommendations on the feasibility of replacing the current non-skid systems with the uncoated aluminum decking material.

Under B as part of the Logistics and Environmental Support Services Corporation (LESCO) team for Corrosion Service Centers (CSCs) Corrpro provides recommendations for corrosion inspection tools, corrosion data storage and data analysis. This includes analysis of previously acquired data from the CSCs, suggestions for future inspections (areas to inspect and information to collect), trend analysis of corrosion issues for US Army Tactical Vehicles and cost of corrosion analysis.
