Specific Expertise:
Under contract A, NAVSEA initiated the non-skid CIL program to develop a step-by-step test for the measurement of non-skid coefficient of friction. Corrpro designed, fabricated, and tested a coefficient of friction (COF) measurement device utilizing the sliding block technique as part of this program. The COF measurement device was an update to a previous model and designed to be a more compact and portable unit. Corrpro recently measured COF onboard USS FLETCHER in six month intervals over a multi-year period using the new COF measurement device. The data captured from the COF measurement device provided actual wear rates of non-skid in various areas of the ship.

Under contract B, Vision Point Systems supports the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) corrosion control branch in several key functional areas such as: QA for the NAVSEA preservation team program, Handheld QA tool development, electro-mechanical device prototyping, and project management support. The effort involves performing onsite QA on contractor projects, documentation of QA records, and reporting QA status to the government. In addition a QA tool for field data gathering is being developed. The QA tools allow inspectors to travel into the field and collect real-time QA data that can be uploaded to a web database.
