The structure owner's concern for protecting the environment resulted in its selection of Corrpro's patented "GridT " system to provide cathodic protection to the bottoms of twelve aboveground storage tanks located in the Guangdong Province of the People's Republic of China. Personnel from Corrpro's office in Hong Kong designed and supervised the installation of the system.

According to Corrpro project engineer, C. T. Lung, "The client chose the 'GridT ' system for several reasons. The first was the excellent current distribution which the system's mixed metal oxide anode network layout provides. Most important, though, is the system's compact geometry which is installed in the extremely limited area between the tank bottom and the secondary containment liner."

These Corrpro "GridT " systems, which were the first of their kind to be installed in mainland China, are designed to provide long-term, reliable corrosion control to the aboveground storage tank bottoms.
